Pesticide Sum Compliance (No.70)
A grouped EQS of 0.2 μg/L inland that applies to the sum of all listed pesticides — individual substances must also meet their own EQS and contribute to this combined total.
Directive (EU) 2026/805 introduced a combined AA-EQS of 0.2 μg/L (inland waters) for the sum of all priority substance pesticides (Substance No.70). Compliance requires: (1) each individual pesticide meets its own AA-EQS and MAC-EQS, AND (2) the arithmetic sum of all contributing pesticide concentrations does not exceed 0.2 μg/L. Not all listed pesticides contribute to the sum — the following are excluded because they are primarily assessed via biota or sediment: No.16 (Hexachlorobenzene), No.30 (Tributyltin), No.34 (Dicofol), No.44 (Heptachlor). Glyphosate (No.60) is also excluded — assessed separately. No pesticide sum EQS applies for coastal/transitional waters.
